Easter Eggs

Easter time! I'm moving from one holiday to the next pretty fast, but oh well. We decided to dye eggs the weekend before Easter, then we could enjoy eating them through the week. My Dad happened to be visiting that weekend, so he helped Aubrey learn how to place the eggs into the dye without breaking them or spilling the dye. She had so much fun and loved all the different colors. Oh by the way...since when does a simple egg dyeing kit come with 12 colors!? I was totally surprised and didn't even have enough cups for all of them so I ended up throwing two of the tablets away (Shhhh don't tell Aubrey ;) ). Growing up I remember six colors and having to wait my turn with my sisters for the particular color you wanted to uses. Aubrey's egg dying only lasted about 15 minutes between 10 colors, 14 eggs and one kid. I guess we will have to work on increasing the kid number to make the fun last a little longer! :)

I also wanted Aubrey to get to participate in the fun of Easter egg hunting! She has done it once or twice when she was younger, but last year while Sam and Aubrey were in Connecticut for Easter, I was in Minnesota by myself. And and I don't really remember them talking about doing any egg hunting. This year I think between the city egg hunt, the Windsor Rec Center and friends houses, Aubrey hunted for eggs around 5 different times! We had an over abundance of candy even before the Easter bunny visited our house!! She loved it and I'm glad the city had a bucket to recycle eggs at the park so we didn't take them all home.
I think I forgot to mention it snowed the morning of the city egg hunt. Nothing stuck to the ground but it was chilly!

I had to show this series of pics. I'm sure most kids are like this when it comes to candy - totally focused, unwrapping, shoving it in their mouth, then they will listen when asked to smile for a picture with chocolate in their teeth! Oh yes and the scowl!
