Nothing much new going on for us, but I felt like I needed to post something since it has been over a week since my last posting. Aubrey is getting better and better at walking everyday. I think she's figuring out that walking is much faster way of getting around than crawling. In the next couple weeks Aubrey will be moved out of the infant room at daycare. We have really liked her teachers, but it's time to be with the big kids (if you can call the young toddlers big kids). I'm sure she'll do well and have fun in the next class.
I had to post this picture of her "glued to the TV" like my family always says I was growing up. I guess she did get something from me! Some mornings while her and I are getting ready to go for the day I put in a baby Einstein video. She really likes when one particular puppet comes on. She'll walk up to the TV and say "Hi" like hey I remember you!

I'm sure all parents have a photo somewhat like this, but it was still so cute I couldn't resist sharing. This was the first time she'd really dug into the cupboards and crawled on in. It was a good distraction while I was making dinner.

Sam and I are just doing the same old thing with school and work. The leaves on the trees are just starting to change here, so we home to go drive around at take in the scenery one of these next weekends. Everyone says this is the best season in New England. This week it has really turned to fall weather with colder temperatures and lots of rain. It was also kind of dreary week for me too. For those of you who don't know, my Mother passed away while I was in high school and this past Thursday it has been 10 years since she left. Kind of hard to believe and it's still is kind of difficult for me to talk about. Anyway...this is my little shout out for her - for how much I still miss her and wish she could see her granddaughter running around this week. It is amazing the things we survive through in life and I'm very thankful for all the time I did have with her.
On a lighter note, the last couple weekends it was my turn to be on call for autopsy duty at the Yale Medical Center and the CT state medical examiner's office. For our program we each get two weekends out of the semester to be on call. We basically just go in to get more exposure to the environment. I didn't get called in on my Yale weekend, but we had seven cases at the state ME's office and I really enjoyed. I know seven sounds like a lot, but for here that is pretty average for a weekend. Luckily I was on call with a great Pathologist who was friendly and I was able to help out a little. One of my classmates who had been up there the weekend before was barely even spoken to by the staff at the ME's, so I was grateful. I just tried to be as assertive as possible and help out whenever I saw something needed to be done. It was really interesting for me to see how a busier and larger ME's office was run. They actually had five people there (including me) each day to get things done really fast and efficiently. By the end of the weekend the Doctor told me I needed to make sure I have a rotation there next year, so that made me pretty happy. It may seem kind of weird to get excited about this stuff, but I really enjoy it and I guess that's why we're here in CT! Hope all is well for all of are family and friends and keep in touch!!

Hey! Aubrey looks just like you...'glued to that TV'. That she did get from her mom!!! It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since Mom has been gone...We all miss her dearly. But she is watching over all of us and seeing every little thing her first granddaugher is doing as she grows! Take care & we love you guys!
Oh, we miss you guys so much!! Aubrey is just adorable! Good to know that we're not the only ones with a TV-aholic :) Happy Fall! Love you guys!
So glad to hear that you are enjoying school and that you all is well. Aubrey is so adorable and she's not the only TV junkie around - Marshall stares at the TV while he's eating...he's starting way too young. About your mom - just remember that you will see her again and that families are forever. Love you and have a great week.
