Ups & Downs

Wow getting back into a routine is sometimes difficult, but once you do what happens?? It all gets turned upside down again and you start all over. A couple weeks ago Sam was notified at work that the company was going to put everyone into a part time lay-off rotations. I just heard the word lay-offs and I was really scared. We've been so lucky with Sam's job and we depend upon every little cent we get between daycare, bills and groceries. As with almost anything these days business is slow, so the company was laying off half of the staff at a time on alternating weeks. Of course we found out about this the Thursday before the week Sam was going to be out of work! We panicked a little bit, but Sam took it as an opportunity to possibly find a better job. He worked hard searching and contacting so may businesses. He did have a couple interviews and some possibilities, but we decided they were a little too risky for us right now. This week Sam is back at work and we are both grateful. Staying at home just made him dwell on things more. Rumors are the rotating lay-offs will not continue and we really hope that is true, but we are still keeping an eye out for new possibilities. He actually applied to be on the police force this week, so we will see what comes of that. I am very grateful for how hard Sam works to help me along in this crazy part of our life we are in now. We hope that things will smooth out fine and we can just get back to our normal routines!
On a happier note, Aubrey turned 18 months this past weekend! Again I will say how fast time flies and we love watching her grow. She is such a chatter box now, repeating almost everything she hears (in English and Spanish thanks to Sam). She runs all around the apartment and even has a little purse she carries (thanks to Grandma T) full of little treasures! Of course she is testing every boundary and gets into plenty of things, but we love her just the same. Best of all she gets to go to nursery at church now, YEAH!! Well I better get back to my routine of studying. It was my turn to be on call at the state medical examiner's office last weekend and we were busy, so now I'm trying to catch up a little bit. Hard to believe it is coming up already, but I'm looking forward to my spring break in two weeks. Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!

You guys are so blessed to have each other :) Everything will be okay... we always pray for everyone during this "unsure" time. It seems as though security is not available for anyone right now!
