Ready for Spring

Wow, I can't believe it has been two weeks from my last post. I feel kind of like a slacker, but nothing really new has been going on with us. We are all so ready for spring to come! We are still averaging temps in the 30s out here and we are so tired of the cold. We miss the warming spring weather of GJ this time of year! Aubrey and I attempted to go to the playground this week, but it was still too cold to make it worth while. I actually had my last official spring break (or any school break for that matter) of my graduate school career this week. It was totally uneventful though since I had quite a bit of homework to do and we couldn't really go anywhere. Aubrey and I did get to spend a little more time together and that was fun. After this semester I will begin my hospital rotations for the next year. During that time I don't really get any breaks for anything since we're running on the hospitals schedules. We did get to put in our preferences about where we might like to go and what specialties we would like to see more of though. After discussing it with Sam, I requested to go on a rotation at the Mayo clinic in MN. It will be hard to be gone from Sam and Aubrey for that time, but it will be a great experience to get to work there for a short time. Plus, I would like visiting Rochester again since we were there so long with Mom while I was in high school. I will find out in April what my rotation schedule will be.

Oh, on a different note...Sam accidentally short of blew-out of the end of his finger last week by hitting it with the claw end of a hammer while at work. He called me as I was cleaning up Aubrey's throw-up (a whole different story) and told me that I would need to come meet him at the ER. Luckily it wasn't as bad as he first thought, but he did fracture the tip of his finger and had to have some stitches, but we didn't loss a finger!! :) To make it even better, Sam had his physical exam for the police academy the next day at 7:30am. Well his finger is healing well and he still went and passed all the physical tests the next day. Sam had completed 3 out of the 5 steps of the process to get into the police academy. We will find out the last week of March if he gets to go onto the oral exam and official interview. Who knows what will come out of this, but I hope he is happy with it!! I really appreciate all he does for us out here, so I hope he gets want he wants!! Oh, we will be celebrating his 29th birthday next Saturday...anyone have any gift ideas? I'm at a loss this year about what to get for him, but I know I'll be making him one of his favs for dinner and a awesome cake!! Here are some more recent photos...enjoy!

This is what Aubrey's room looked like one day after she woke up from her nap!

I was trying to clean the car seat to mail to Aunt Jen, but Aubrey thought it made a fun toy instead!
