Not the Easter we had Planned

We had big plans for our Easter weekend. Easter egg hunt on Saturday, church and dinner with friends on Sunday, but all of that got mixed up pretty quick. Unfortunately, Aubrey woke up with a nasty cough on Saturday. It wasn't too bad, but progressively got worse as the day went on. It ended up raining most of the day on Saturday, so all Easter egg hunts were called off. By the evening Aubrey had a temperature and the typical seal-bark cough of croup. Luckily we had just seen our doctor for a brief check up that morning and she'd given us some medicine just in case this happened. Aubrey had a pretty rough night sleeping, but we were so thankful things didn't get any worse like the last time back in November when we ended up at the hospital. Sam and I found subs for teaching at church and cancelled our plans for dinner with friends. We were disappointed to be stuck at home on Easter, but it turned into a good family day. Aubrey got her Easter basket and we hid eggs several times. We had bunny-shaped pancakes for breakfast and all took a long morning nap. We played, read books and dyed Easter eggs. Aubrey still wasn't 100%, but she no longer had a fever and seemed to enjoy the day. She will just have to wear her Easter dress next week ! Hope everyone had a great and Happy Easter!! (Oh, please don't mind the stack of unpacked boxes in the background of the pictures...we don't have enough space!!!)

Aubrey looks like she liked the eggs...we too hid the eggs multiple times. Sorry about that freakin croup...keep those meds around for future...sammmy gets croup all the time. When I hear it coming on during the day I give it 1 hour before bed...it takes about 3.5-5 hours to peak and work at its max. we have avoided many (not all) but many ER visits with this method. Hope all is well and you get to have a nice little break before you get started again...give Aubrey a hug and tell Sam hello. love you guys
