Rotation Schedule
This week I finally got my hospital rotation schedule for my next year of graduate school. I'm so excited to finally know where and what I'll be doing! Most of them are at hospitals through out the state of CT, but I was lucky enough to also get two out of state rotations. I know what you're thinking...how can she go out of state with Sam and Aubrey at home? Sam and I talked about this awhile ago and decided it was a good opportunity for me to get to work at some of these places. Plus these facilities pay for our flights to and from and provide housing and some food. I put in my request for certain rotations in hopes that it would work out, but it wasn't a definite thing that I would get to go. Wednesday I found out I will be at Columbia University in New York City from August through September. Luckily with this one, I will still be able to come home every weekend! My second rotation is at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where I will be for 6 weeks next April till I graduate in May. Both of these rotations are considered autopsy rotations where I will be honing my evisceration skills! I am nervous and excited at the same time to begin this next step in reaching my goal, but look...I'm halfway!!! Hopefully I can pull all the things I've learned over the past year out of my brain and finally put them to practical use! I did feel a little regret when I thought about how long I would be away from Sam and Aubrey, but Sam assured me that things would be OK and it was a good thing for me to do. I'm so lucky to have such great husband to support me through this crazy adventure!! Wish me luck!

What an awesome opportunity. It may seem hard right now, and a huge sacrifice. But I'm sure it's one of those things you'll never regret. So awesome! Good luck Jill!
So cool! Congrats and best wishes :) Sam will have to keep up the blog for you!!!
It will be a great opportunity Jill!!! I will be very hard to be away from Sam and Aubrey for those periods of time, but you will make it through and cherish the times that you will have together! Wow...can't believe you're half way done...good luck!!!
Congrats! Those will be great opportunities for you. Halfway- at least there is a little flicker of light at the end of the tunnel and hands on/clinical always beats classroom lecture. :) You'll do great!!!
