Aubrey's 1st Birthday

On Friday, Aubrey and I picked up Jen and Nathan from the airport and did a little last minute shopping. We met Sam at home and Aubrey took a good long nap and when she woke up it was time to party! She tought the presents were fun to crawl on at first but after a little while she realized she could tear the paper off. I had wrapped most of the presents in tissue paper which made it a little easier for her. It was so much fun watching her and of course she was much more interested in the bows and paper than the gifts. After the trash was thrown away she loved playing with all her gifts. She took off pushing the little walker wagon we gave her! Too bad we don't have a little bigger place for her to push it around in, but she loved it just the same. Almost even more fun for her was playing in the wagon.

Then we moved onto the cake. I was pretty happy with how it turned out, even though I wish I would have used a little pink frosting on the fish, but oh well. We sang happy birthday and let
her dive in. She didn't really know what to do and the first time she
touched the frosting, she kind of held our her fingers like "this is sticky"and it wasn't until Jen put some frosting in her mouth that she realized it was sweet and she could eat it. Then she got into in a little more, but like a good girl she didn't go totally wild. It was really cute and fun to watch. Of course after that she went right into the tub for a good cleaning. Thanks to everyone for the cards and gifts. It was a great day for her and I'm so surprised I didn't cry. We wish we were closer to everyone so we could celebrate together! Miss you all!
